Pastoral & Finance Councils

The purpose of the Pastoral Council is to assist our Pastor in developing and deepening the parish faith community in order to fulfill the mission of Jesus.

About our Pastoral Council:
The St. Bernard Parish Council shall comprise nine members. Each of the Council Members will serve on at least one of the five Committees. The Pastor and the Parish Secretary shall also serve on the Parish Council.

Pastoral Council meets on the 2nd Tuesday every other month - Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Sep, Nov at 7pm in the Parish Hall.

Pastoral Council members are elected and shall serve for three years. A member may serve for two consecutive terms; however, if two consecutive terms are served, the member may not serve again for a period of three years.
Term limits will be staggered so that at least 3 of the 9 members who are elected include individuals with Parish Council

In cooperation with the pastor, the leader of our faith community, the Pastoral Council provides direction for the parish. Each Pastoral Council member is expected to participate fully in the meetings and activities of their Committee and to update the full Parish Council on the decisions and activities of their Committee.
